Questioning Liberty...

Liberty Triumphant!

  1. I couldn't agree more with the answer to something you have a problem with is more voices.

    Thanks for sharing this.

  2. I learned something about freedom from a Marine.
In 1978, I was in the University of Wisconsin student union when I heard yelling. A Marine had set up a table for recruiting, but the table was overturned and his pamphlets all on the floor. A young girl was screaming, spitting and ripping up recruiting pamphlets. She was my age, 19 and American. She yelled at him that he should go because he is a murderer. She screamed that she had a relative that died in Viet Namm and no one wants his murdering war kind around, etc.
The Marine just stood there. I went to his side and stood with him. "I admired how you didn't blow up with all that against you. It is not like it is your fault her relative died in Viet Nam", I commented to him. He didn't even look at me. Then I thought...he is letting her be American. She definitely abused the right with destruction and spitting...
but I learned from that. We can have all sorts of say so here because of our Liberties...we don't have to agree with them all.
